Transition to Heaven

Let me just give you a few more details about her transition to heaven...it was what I had prayed for and better. God always adds blessings to blessings. The hospice nurse was remarkable. She was always there when we needed medicine and allowed us privacy when Lynda was resting. At the last medication at 5:30, she began to breath more shallowly and with time there was more time between breaths. I was lying there with her with the suction wand and I counted 5 seconds between breaths, then 10, then 25...I counted to 50 and Lynda was flying into eternity in the arms of Jesus! She had the most peaceful look on her face. I had told her all morning, "Lynda, you did real good". I looked at that broken body and felt such relief that she is truly in God's Hands now.

Lynda has so many people who have loved her through the years. I cannot thank you all enough for the part you played in this wonderful adventure. Please don't grieve for Lynda. Think about your favorite "Lynda story" and smile. Always remember that God chose to use the weak to tell His greatest stories. In weakness, his strength is magnified for everyone to see. Lynda did not speak a word for thirty years but God used her to change lives, to affect change for other children with special needs...to just make the world a little sweeter. God's timing is perfect. God's creations are perfect. God's love is perfect. Come and celebrate Lynda's life with us. I'll let you know final plans tonight.
I am back in Booneville for a couple of hours before going back to Oxford to meet with Glenn Coleman about Lynda's service. Another special blessing is to have one of our family friends take care of Lynda's final services. Who would have thought that this little boy who spent the night in my back yard with Kevin and shared a birthday just a week apart would grow up to be the person we would entrust our greatest treasure to and be able to go home with a calm heart.

We are planning to do visitation Tuesday night and the service Wednesday morning. This, however, could change depending on the other services planned. I will post the final arrangements as soon as we get home.
